dusty agreed to let me get my birthday present early. i bought myself a NOOK! i love this little machine. i have been reading more than ever before! i love reading and i love that with my NOOK i have thousands of books at my finger tips for half the price you pay in the actual book store. i love my NOOK. i read a book yesterday called water for elephants. it is not a book i would normally read or a book that even sounded remotely interesting to me. it is about the circus. yes the circus. this guys parents die and he loses his mind and joins the circus. it is about his life in the circus. it turns to his love for the animals (that were and still are) treated like garbage in the circus. he tries to protect them. it has a love story and everything you could hope for in a good book. i loved it. it cost me $7 on my NOOK. i also read (don't judge!) kendra wilkinsons biography. it was actually good and some of the stuff that she talks about that goes on in the playboy mansion made me ill. i know. i am not a celebrity obsessed type of person, i really love kendra though. i just finished chelsea handlers book. it was so funny i found myself cracking up on the bus and having people look at me like i was a lunatic. i just started eat pray love. so i am on my 4th book since tuesday! i love that little electronic device and if you are an avid reader you need to get one. now.
tomorrow is the first day in a 5 day stretch of activities i have planned for my birthday. tomorrow is pedicure day. going to get pedicures with my second mother tami and someone i consider my ONLY sister allie, FINALLY! wednesday i am getting my hair cut and going to sushi and a movie with my cousin marissa and my aunt cherie. we are going to charlie st. cloud. (another amazing book i read not too long ago that is also a movie). thursday is the big one. wendover. yay. if you read my blog you know that me and my husband absolutely love to go to wendover, get drunk, and sit in front of penny machines all night. i know. but we love it and we have fun together doing just that and that is the only thing that is important. friday another movie and maybe dinner with our wonderful friends will and kajessa. we really don't see them enough because a) hockey season is over and b) they live a hour away. lame. saturday, bbq with the fam in tooele and dinner with the fam in slc. sunday-RECOVERY DAY. it is going to be a long but fun week and i can't wait to get my stupid little 4 hour shift over tomorrow so it can all begin! i am a firm believer in birthday week. every year a week from my birthday it starts. be nice to me its my birthday, get me a beer its my birthday, do the laundry its my birthday. poor dusty. this will be his 4th gina birthday week. he is a champ. he deals with it. he knows that when birthday week rolls around it is all about ME. no questions asked.
corbin learned the sippy cup... in 2 hours! we gave it to him and he just threw it around and acted like it was a toy, then a couple hours later when he really wanted some milk i grabbed the cup. i layed him down on his back and he just started drinking frow it like a pro! i thought that was going to be a long miserable training period with the sippy cup but he actually did very well and i don't think it could of been better. i am a mother of habit, i have learned. it is very hard for me to change something with corbin once i get used to it. i know that is crazy because he is constantly growing up. when i had to put him in the crib to sleep the first time instead of him being right next to me like he had been the entire 6 months of his young life, i cried. kids are funny like that. once you get used to something and get good with it, it is time to move on and learn something new. new parents learn as much as their babies do trying to keep up!
i am tired. so tired. i haven't been getting much sleep lately and i am stressed out! i think i need to go to bed early tonight. maybe i'll go read on my new favorite thing and wait for one of my favorite people to get home. so tired...
