Be Who you are Say what you Feel
Dear Basketball Fans....

i really just don't get it. i guess because i watch hockey i think basketball is just so lame and boring. a basketball player gets an elbow to the back and falls dramatically to the ground like someone took a butcher knife and stabbed him. a hockey player takes a puck to the face and gets 7 teeth knocked out and within 10 minutes he is back on the ice ready to play. basketball players are a bunch of pansies. did you know that there are only 8 teams in the nba to ever win a championship? LAME! predictable and LAME!
here are some valid points to help my arguement...
1. Players: Basketball - Tall Black guys with the occasional white guy... Hockey - Canadians, Finnish, Russians, Americans, and the occasional black guy...
2. CONCEPT: Basketball - Put the ball in the net without hurting anyone Hockey - Put the puck in the net while checking (slam into the wall) all whom appose
3. Physicality Basketball - "ouch!... ref! he slapped my wrist!" Hockey - "You cheap shot him and I'm going to beat your face in!" (because they can)
4. Teamwork: Basketball - Good Work. Let me slap your ass Hockey - Good work. Now I'm going to headbutt you
5. Scoring: Basketball - TOO FREQUENT Hockey - Rare but exciting when done
6. Comfort: Basketball - On a court with comfortable TENNIS shoes with a comfy tank top and shorts. Hockey - On ice with skates, heavy pads, visor, gloves and helmet. (Sweat just as much)
7. Game Length: Basketball - 4 - 12 minute quarters = 58min (3 breaks) Hockey - 3 - 20 minute periods = 60 (2 breaks)
8. Injuries: Basketball - Minimum: players out with sprained wrist and at worst out with broken bone (seen it) Hockey - Minimum: broken bones but players still play (seen it) and at worst players getting their throat slit by skates (seen it)
9. Fighting: Basketball - NO FIGHTING Hockey - Keep punching the guy in the face until he drops
i found these online. i won't take credit for them but they are good and i completely agree.
really is what i'm trying to say is that while basketball is somewhat entertaining (like watching monkeys hurl poop at eachother) it just doesn't hold a candle to hockey. hockey is the most physically demanding sport out there. don't try and say football is... those guys only play (and i mean actual play like running and throwing the ball) an average of 13 minutes a game! hockey is go, go, go. i am still waiting for a basketball fan to bring me a valid arguement.
